Protect Farmland West of Bewley Road
PFWBR is a non-profit community group established in Angmering in 2024. We formally agreed our Constitution on 30th July 2025, and elected officers as follows:
Chair – Angela Colliss
Vice Chair – James Thompson
Joint Secretaries – Johanne Thompson & Lucy Todd
Treasurer – Laurence Tondelier
We have a membership of over 350 concerned local residents, visiting dog-walkers, ramblers and nature-lovers, who enjoy the footpaths running alongside and through the fields. We want to stop this proposed development, for the good of our village, and the wider area.
Angmering village has been subjected to years of large-scale housing developments and now we are saying ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!’. This is the time to stand up and fight for our green space!
We need your help to do this. Gleeson Land submitted their planning application on 15th August 2024. Following over 1700 letters of objection the application was refused by Arun District Council on 11th June 2025, but Gleeson submitted an appeal to the Planning Inspector in July, so our fight goes on!
In August 2025 we formed a Rule 6 Party with Angmering Parish Council, called Angmering Community Alliance, which will enable us to take an active part in the Public Inquiry.
