Gleeson Land - 'land promoters'

The development proposal is being pushed by Gleeson Land, who say they are ‘highly skilled planning, technical, and land specialists who are passionate about identifying development opportunities and working in partnership to promote land through the complex planning system.

One of their case studies is the land north of Water Lane, Angmering (a.k.a. Langmead Place)- they got approval from Arun District Council for 525 houses on the site and then sold it to Cala to begin construction.

They claim to have a 96% success rate, so we intend to be part of the 4%!

The original site plan from Gleeson Land, spring 2024

Gleeson submitted their application for an ‘Environmental Screening Opinion’ for the site to Arun District Council at the end of March 2024- A/50/24/ESO

Approximately 300 letters of objection were received by ADC between 2nd and 8th April, and they were told an Environmental Impact Assessment was not required. We dispute this decision.

The Planning Application

The application for Outline Planning Permission was received by ADC on 15th August, and uploaded to the online portal on 19th August.

The size of the proposed development site has almost doubled, from the original 9.3ha (23 acres) to 16.1ha (39.8 acres).
